12 of 12 (December)

One of my favourite posts to read on other blogs as I told you before - 12 of 12. Last month I didn't manage to participate in it but this time I really wanted to. Unfortunately I was completely busy today and the day started with me forgetting that it is the 12th. I was on my way to University when I remembered it and as it was already mid-day I decided to do kind of a special 12 of 12 today. The following twelve pictures are from my walk to University and, as you will see, it was a wonderful day with quite a lot of wonderful impressions.

It was sunny but (brrrr) cold!

This time I didn't take the way through the park. This picture reminds me of an advertisement for a vacation or something like that.

I like those little houses that remember me of old Miss Marple films!

I think that's really a door a bishop should walk through.

No words - just amazing.

I felt being watched while taking photos of their neighbourhood - creepy ;).

I wished that was my house - isn't it beautiful?!

You can see quite a few of houses like that and I always ask myself who is living in there.

This was the street I took, it always looks exactly like in the middle ages. You should see that at night!

The Old Town House

Also Scottish cats like looking out of the window.

The last nice impression of that walk - I almost arrived at University!

I hope you had fun taking a walk with me!!

See ya, my lovelies!

"Freedom and Whisky go together" (Robert Burns)

Scotland and Whisky is the same as Germany and Beer. No wonder that you can find distilleries everywhere in this country and although I don't like to drink Whisky I visited the Knockdhu Distillery together with the International Society of our University. I must admit that I cannot remember anything they told us (found it very difficult - if you're interested in the process of how to produce Whisky ask google ;)) so that I can only show you the impressions I got on this trip. Have fun!

No, that's no Whisky yet.

The distilleries own "guard"-dog :).

See ya, my lovelies!

Isle of Skye III

While the wind is blowing really hard outside I decided to make my last post about our Isle of Skye Trip. On the last day, which was also the day when we went back to Aberdeen, we decided to drive a bit over the island and then go back to the main land to visit Eilean Donan Castle. The weather was slightly better than the other day so that we could take a few more nice pictures of this impressive landscape but see yourself:

Those two pictures above show the view out of the dining room in the hostel - nice, isn't it?

That's a good example for how the people live on the Isle - often very far away from any kind of civilization. But I love the red houses between the trees.

Made me feel like being in the wild west :)!

That was the last picture of the Isle of Skye. The next ones gonna be at the main land again. It was a nice weekend there, I really enjoyed the landscape, the people and even the rain made it kind of special.

Eilean Donan Castle

The Secret Chamber - Steffi and I were alowed to enter because one guide let us in :).

Bye, Bye, it was a nice weekend!

See ya, loves!

Perfect Sunday!

Yeah, the second post for today. We had a really perfect Sunday which started with a typical English breakfast at the Pub, a long and wonderful walk back home and ended with a tasty self-made Pizza with all my flatmates!! Hope you had all such a perfect second Advent!!

Steffi - Me - Matthias
The weather was sooo perfect - could you imagine that it's already three weeks to Christmas??

Thanks to Luana, my lovely Italian flatmate, who prepared this tasty Pizza for all of us!!

Lots of kisses and cuddles, see ya!!

Isle of Skye II

I'm a really bad blog mommy but lately I haven't been able to manage my time efficiently. Unfortunately this also affected my blogging time. But now I'm back and I hope I will manage my time better in the future.

Today I will show a bunch of photos from our second day at the Isle of Skye. It was such a rainy day that most of them look really grey and sad but nevertheless the nature and landscape of this island is incredible wonderful as you will hopefully see. It was also kind of funny because Steffi and I became so wet that we had to change our trousers (the only one we had with us) to tights so that they could dry. We did it in the back of the car and laughed a lot about the stylish look afterwards :). Now I hope you have fun watching the pictures we took!!

Most of the time we drove on very small paths but I had fun driving there when it was my time to be the chauffeur :).

Due to the rain we decided to visit a Whisky Distillery. It was very interesting although I don't like Whisky.

Everywhere on the Island you find cliffs and waterfalls.

A typical picture of Skye: Sheep on the road...

... or even Highland cattle...

... and sometimes also hens ;).

Because of the clouds those mountains look like volcanos but they aren't.

Exploring cliffs at the very end of the little Isle.

Despite the rain it was a very impressive day on the Isle of Skye and it's really worth too see.

See you later, loves!!
