Athens of the North

After a long and slightly chaotic week I take a short rest from my essay work to show you the pictures of our trip to Edinburgh. I can tell you, I fell in love with this city in the first second I saw it! I don't know why but it has such a charm and the mixture of old and modern was fantastic!! Steffi, my sister Laura (when she comes to visit me - yeah!!!!) and I will go again to the so-called Athens of the North on a one-night trip and I'm really looking forward to it! Now enjoy this bunch of photos!

Everywhere you could see wonderful buildings!

View to the old part of the city.

Entrance to a lovely park in the middle of the city.

One way into the old town.

Not the first we saw but one of the best lookin :).

I love special entrances and paths, as you will see on more than one picture!

Honour to whom honour is due ;-)!

Short glimpse on the castle.

That's how pubs can look like.

That's the entrance to a (Rock) House = love.

The Royal bank of Scotland.

A last view over the city!

I hope you enjoyed this pictures as much as I did taking them in such a beautiful place!!

See ya, loves!

Sunny day

Sorry for not blogging last week but I was a bit stressed out. Steffi and I went to the city for shopping, to the Aberdeen sports village for getting a membership for the gym (it's a really fantastic sports studio with lots of facilities) and made trips to Edinburgh for one day and to the Isle of Skye for three days. I will tell and show you more about those trips in my next postings. Today I'm going to show you what we did on the last incredible sunny and nice day since then: We took the bus to the Aberdeen harbour and made a walk along the coast to the Lighthouse. The view was absolutely wonderful and we had a great time watching ships and strolling over little cliffs. But the most sensational, incredible, inspiring and greatest thing ever was to see Dolphins playing in the sun!! I've never seen a Dolphin before and it was so beautiful to see how they were jumping out of the water and to get the feeling that they had real fun at that day. Unfortunately I can just tell you of that wonderful experience because they were too far away for taking a good picture but I think otherwise it would not be possible to show the fascination of this moment on a picture.
Nonetheless I will show you a few other beautiful pictures of that day!! Have fun watching them!

Almost there!

The view into the harbour.

It looks like a little old lighthouse!!

Welcome back!

Those paths run directly along the sea with a beautiful view.

The modern and bigger Lighthouse of Aberdeen.

Resting on a cliff + watching the waves = priceless!!

Way back :(

Even such wonderful days have an end...

See ya, loves!

The last post of Loch Ness is still missing, I am so sorry guys. But today you will get the last pictures of the Trip, I show you a few pictures of the lake itself. Unfortunately we didn't find Nessie, maybe she wasn't at home!? So there's is nothing more to say than: Have fun!!

See ya!

Loch Ness II - Urquhart Castle

As promised you now get the second post about our Loch Ness Trip last Saturday. We also went to Urquhart Castle which is actually, like most of the Scottish Castles, a ruin but different than Dunnottar Castle (see this Post) it lies in a valley directly at the shores of Loch Ness therefore it is easy to reach. For me the most annoying thing was that there were masses of tourists which is clear because of the legends around Loch Ness. However it was nice to see, so I will not keep back the photos! Have fun watching them:

First sight on the Castle.

As I told you: Masses of tourists!

You might have noticed that I like such kinds of photos :).

We didn't climb that tower because lots of people were waiting in front of it to go up.

Bye, Bye!

Hope you liked the few pictures I could show you!

See u later!
